The offset direction changed suddenly while following the tutorial from offsetting to the sides of the chosen curves to below them. I have been unsuccessful in redefining the plane to rectify this. Any help is appreciated.

Hi Luke,
Try inserting a XY-plane component in the 'Plane'-input from the Offset Curve component. I believe this will do the trick.
